Role Overview
The Finance Manager supports the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer in building a world class finance function that delivers accurate and timely financial information applying accounting principles and techniques, enhancing internal controls and processes to ensure compliance and alignment with the overall company’s objectives. The role will be a hands on role with the primary focus being on the UK and Ireland but with a collective responsibility across other operating companies in different geographies.
Role and Responsibilities:
To own all aspects of financial management and reporting including corporate
accounting, state, sales and other tax filing, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation; payroll processing; development of internal control policies and procedures.
Accounting
- Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, intercompany balances, management accounting with full control and ownership of the general ledger along with supporting control accounts
- A detailed focus on revenue recognition, cost of sales and resulting client profitability
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Payroll
- Process and have full ownership of the entire payroll process and related activities such as PAYE and pension payments and reconciliations
Reporting
- Prepare and publish timely accurate monthly financial statements with explanations of variances from budget and most recent forecast
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Manage and comply with sales, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Preparation of year end accounts and liaise with accountants to ensure thorough and efficient completion of audits and filing of year end accounts
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Coordinate with the CFO and Financial Controller to prepare the budget and financial forecasts for the year along with explanation of variances
- Support other financial analyses as required from time to time
Further duties and responsibilities include:
- Assisting others in the Finance Team with any other duties as required
- Reporting any improper or suspected wrongdoing to the Chief Financial Officer
Required Expertise
Essentials:
- Qualified or part qualified ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA with at least 3 years of accounting and finance experience
- Proven experience as a Finance manager or in a similar role
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and strong desire to support the team in meeting organisational objectives
- Ability to resolve problems and queries quickly and efficiently
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Able to provide quality and detailed financial information to the Finance Team within tight reporting deadlines
- Appreciative of the importance of the “internal” client and participation in the agency’s cultural activities.
- Results orientated and excellent problem solver with accurate processing of financial data with strong attention to detail
Compensation and benefits
- Total target compensation in the region of €66,000 per year, including:
- Base salary (around €60k, depending on location & experience)
- Twice yearly bonus (averaging 5%)
